As Featured in the Boston Sunday Globe And the Patriot Ledger, Quincy, MA Have you ever wondered how the people in your life are “hard-wired”?
Jumpstart personality assessments hold the keys to these questions. A jumpstart personality assessment is an adaptation of the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator. It is an assessment based upon the findings of Karl Jung who theorized that personalities have different archtypes. Katherine Briggs and Isabel Myers took Jung’s research and developed a personality assessment known today as the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator. It is not a test, nor is there a right or wrong answer. It is an indicator of the styles and preferences of an individual, the “hard-wiring” of our personalities. People differ systematically in the way that they perceive things and in how they reach conclusions, Thus, there are fundamental differences in our reactions, interests, values, motivations, skills and interests. What separates a jumpstart personality assessment from a standard MBTI, is that the assessment is performed by a psychotherapist. People with the same personality types will register in various levels on the four spectrum types, thus there is nothing generic about the jumpstart assessment. After the results of the MBTI, families come to understand each other better; students have more direction in terms of career pursuits; couples are able to figure out how their partners think and feel; Single people learn the strengths that they have to bring to future relationships as well as understanding why past relationships might not have worked. Furthermore, through the use of the MBTI, corporations have come to understand the best fit for their employees, thus proven to raise the level of job morale. Jumpstart significantly increases one’s confidence by labeling one’s individual strengths. This strengths perspective model works, as it is a move away from pathology. The jumpstart personality assessment is one of the greatest investments you can make toward a deeper understanding of the people in your life. Commentaries: "Nancy's warm, empathic approach to getting a 'jumpstart' in life is both accepting of where you are in your life and motivating you to where you want to be. Her enthusiasm is contagious!" -Katherine McInnis-Dittrich, PhD. Boston College “I raised six children and always knew none of them had the same needs but never understood exactly why. The jumpstart seminar answered those questions.” -Audrey “It was fascinating to finally understand my own hard-wiring and why I come at things the way that I do. I recommend the assessment to anybody who wants to understand themselves or the people in their lives that much better.” -Bill “I hate to spend money on seminars when they are a waste of time. I actually am far more grateful that I spent my money on the jumpstart seminar rather than at Pottery Barn.” -Liz "Nancy has an intense interest in finding the talents in you that you, yourself, cannot see. Her confidence in you makes you feel you can accomplish anything. After working with her, I discovered exactly what I want to do." -Ellen Reynolds If you are interested in taking the jumpstart personality assessment online, email Nancy Pando, LICSW to facilitate your correspondence (npando@pandoassociates.com).
